Terms of use
Last updated 7 November 2026
These terms explain the general purpose of the Motorist Ally website and our independent automotive guidance. By sending an enquiry, you acknowledge the nature and limitations of our service. Any separately agreed paid service terms will be explained before that work begins.
1. Our role
Motorist Ally offers information and independent guidance about vehicle servicing, repair quotations and used-vehicle purchase decisions, generally based on details supplied remotely by customers. We are not a vehicle repair workshop, an in-person inspection service, an insurer, a law firm or a substitute for a suitably qualified technician examining a vehicle.
2. Initial enquiries and paid work
Sending an initial enquiry is free. If we consider that a paid review may be useful, we will describe the proposed scope and fee before proceeding. No payment is collected through this website form. An enquiry does not guarantee that we will accept or complete a review.
3. Information and limitations
Our comments may be limited by the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of information you supply. Costs, repair needs and vehicle conditions may differ from a quotation or description. We do not guarantee savings, the detection of every defect or the outcome of negotiations with a dealer or repairer. You remain responsible for your vehicle-related decisions.
4. Vehicle safety
If a vehicle may be unsafe to use, follow the vehicle manufacturer's guidance and promptly seek an in-person assessment from a suitably qualified repairer or appropriate roadside assistance. Do not rely on an online enquiry for emergencies, serious mechanical faults, active warning signs or other urgent safety concerns.
5. Documents you send
Please submit documents and photographs you are authorised to share. Do not include unnecessary personal or sensitive information, payment card details or content that is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights. We may decline to handle a submission that appears unsafe or inappropriate.
6. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation. Any fees, cancellation arrangements, and remedies for a particular paid service should be communicated in the service agreement before payment.
7. Website content
The general information on this website is for educational and informational purposes. It is not personalised advice until we have considered your specific circumstances and agreed to provide a review. Website availability and material may change without prior notice.
8. Contact
For questions about these terms, contact our business contact email or use the website enquiry form.
